My name is Luca Igel. I am the founder and managing director of Stacvalley, one of the largest marketing agencies for Amazon in Europe. I now have over 50 of my own products on Amazon and have been working intensively with Amazon FBA for more than five years.
Stacvalley was created purely for our own use. In the beginning, everything was run by me alone, later with a team. Today, we support more than 700 retailers in making their products more visible and successful on Amazon. Our specialty: strong product images, listing optimization and marketing that really fits the target group.
If you want to go deeper, you can find lots of information about our services and the team behind the scenes on the Stacvalley website. If you want to talk to us in person, you can book an initial consultation to start your own Amazon success.
How did it all begin? After graduating from high school, I wanted to go out into the world, learn English and travel. So, like many others, I first went to Australia. It was there that I first came into contact with Amazon FBA. I wanted to work from anywhere and Amazon seemed perfect for that.
My original plan was to go straight into Australia because the market there had just opened up. But I quickly realized that as a young guy without much money, it's almost impossible to set up a company in Australia. Nevertheless, I had already done a lot of research on Amazon and decided to sell products in Germany from Australia.
I launched my first product with around 10,000 to 15,000 euros in start-up capital. And what can I say? It immediately became a bestseller and was the best-selling product in its category for nine months.
Challenges & solutions on my way:
This initial success gave me the boost I needed to launch more and more products and grow continuously.
I knew early on that nothing would work on Amazon without first-class product images. I had an idea of what they should look like, but I lacked the implementation. My trick: I hired a student who was familiar with media design and liked photography. I taught him everything that was important for Amazon.
"I knew what I wanted to show, but I couldn't realize it qualitatively."
This is how the first pictures for my own products were created. Over time, I received more and more requests from other retailers who were also looking for decent product images. First it was friends, then acquaintances - and everyone was enthusiastic. That was the starting signal for Stacvalley as an agency.
We have grown, implemented more products for retailers and built up a team that now consists of experts in photography, design and Amazon marketing. If you want to get an idea: You can find our faces and tasks in the Stacvalley team area.
Learning points from the agency structure:
After hundreds of projects and my own products, I have gained three key insights that I want to pass on to everyone. They are simple, but make all the difference in the end.
The biggest problem is that many people wait too long because they want everything to be perfect. But there is no such thing as perfection. I myself used to only get 80% of things done - but that was always better than doing nothing at all.
What counts is getting started:
I implement new knowledge after one or two weeks at the most. Speed is the key to growth.
Do's and don'ts for the start:
If you want to go even deeper, you can find practical tips in the article Five Tips To Run a Successful Amazon FBA Business.
The biggest lever in the Amazon business: you need to know who is buying your products. I analyze my target group very carefully: How old are they? What are their hobbies? What brands do they like? All of this influences how I design my product images, listings and overall marketing.
If you understand your target group, you address them correctly and sell more. This applies to our own products as well as to Stacvalley customers.
Tips for understanding target groups:
Understanding our target group is the main reason why we and our customers are so successful.
Many people believe that Amazon is a quick way to make money. That is a fallacy. Success requires perseverance. Big brands on the market often work for three years or more before they really take off.
I also lose focus from time to time, but I always get it back. New products, improving old products, optimizing marketing - all of this is an ongoing process.
My tips for more stamina:
Sharing with others can help. In forums such as r/AmazonFBATips on Reddit, you can get honest experience reports and practical tips.
If you are already selling on Amazon or want to start now, I can promise you one thing: Good product images, strong listings and a real understanding of your target group make all the difference. That's exactly what my team at Stacvalley offers you.
